    Hey! This is a video taken with it on. It was not that sunny but you get the idea.

    I bought the hood and epoxy months ago, perhaps almost a year ago. I put off doing this. A month ago I came across a 55mm hood that is designed to attach to the GoPro case. I bought that instead and it was an easy install. Google Snake River Prototyping. I actually just got back from a snowmobiling trip where I used it and the videos were drastically improved with a polarizing filter.

    Thanks for asking though.

    @boardingz – If you want to fit it to the outside of the case lens cover (Black piece – 6 screws) you are better off buying the polarized plastic sheets that go inside. Fitting this kind of filter at that diameter will give you tunnel vision only.

    @MountainCat1M …How did it go?

    @lopaka707, I will have a dig through my Japan vids. I’ve been meaning to get onto this comment.

    Hey mate, You can use super glue but 2-part epoxy will be better. Less chance it is going to eat into the plastic. Superglue at times eats away the plastic you are trying to glue. Try putting a ‘test spot’ on both plastics before if you are worried.

    hi mate, great video, currently in the process of gathering the materials for this … can i use superglue??

    Could you post a video of regular lens vs filter for snowboarding?

    2. My mate got the new GoPro Hero2 … still balls in low light…if your going clubbing leave it at home. Many moments missed in Croatia with millions of hot British chicks.
    3. Go to Croatia.

    @snappakingie
    Yeah water gets in but Physics tells us this is not an issue as snells law is still going to work OK where there are three materials and n1=n3.

    OK answers people.
    1. GoPro I think recommend the lame plastic internal filter.

    3. Go to Croatia.
    4. You can chuck a UV filter on this to remove the under water aberration.

  19. CaptEdWalker

    Great job bro! Was looking into the same thing for use here in the US. Your clip helps.

    Great vid, just ordered a Hero2, waiting for it to arrive, thanks for posting.

  21. bemichael

    Good Idea, im sure GoPro will come out with a filter soon enough.

  22. MountainCat1M

    @boardingz I got the hood and epoxy. I just have to get it done!

  23. boardingz

    Alright Everybody! Anyone built one? How did you go? Did you shave down the lens hood piece?

  24. boardingz

    @MountainCat1M
    The problem with fitting it to the outside of the ‘black piece with the 6 screws’ would be the impact of this on the wide angle view. By using a larger diameter we are able to decrease the clipping in the corners of the lens.

    The size i have used is the maximum that can be used without major augment to the case. It looks pretty pimp too!

    Rum and coke for me, but cheers!
